ROBERTS IestynFreeport Retail | Chief Executive Joined in 2006, he was previously Commercial Director of McArthur Glen. He has a background in retail and has held a variety of senior roles in general management and marketing in retail and consumer companies. He was Chief Executive of Gray & Osbourn (formerly Selfridges Selection, a niche mail order business), Chairman of Simply Switch (web based service price comparison business) and held senior marketing roles with Sears plc, Storehouse plc and Barclays Bank plc. He spent seven years at McKinsey & Co Inc as a Senior Manager specialising in retail and consumer goods. Iestyn is the current Chair of the ICSC Outlet Conference. About Freeport Retail Freeport is an industry pioneer, bringing the US concept of outlet centres to Europe in 1994. Since 1994 it has been responsible for the development and operation of 10 centres across Europe. Formerly quoted on the London Stock Exchange, it was acquired by Carlyle European Real Estate Partners in 2007. Freeport Retail operates as the asset manager and operator of the 3 Freeport outlets and the Ringsted outlet near Copenhagen, in total 130,000m2. It is also working with local investors to develop outlets in Italy, France, Germany and Slovakia and as a consultant in China. Over the last three years Freeport has turned a diverse pan-European retail portfolio around to become a prosperous, profitable retail business despite the volatile and unstable global economic climate.
COTTINGHAM Phil QUINTAIN ESTATES AND DEVELOMENT PLC | Head of Retail Phil Cottingham is Head of Retail at Quintain Estates & Develoment PLC and is responsible for building and managing the Quintain & Wembley retail team. In addition he is assisting with the successful delivery of the Wembley project and other retail opportunities across the Quintain Group. Phil formely worked for Land Securities Group Plc where he was the Portfolio Director responsible for driving the investment performance of the Outlet portfolio consisting of Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth; Livingston Designer Outlet Center (50% Share); The Galleria, Hatfield & the forward purchase of The Outlet, Banbridge, Nothern Ireland. During is time at LS, he was part of the Birmingham Alliance Executive team reponsible for both strategy and decision making in respect of BullRing and previous roles inclued working as Development Manager on Pincesshay Exeter. About Quintain Estates & Develoment PLC: Quintain is a London regeneration company delivering 22 million square foot of consented develompent around The National Stadium at Wembley and The 02 at Greenwich Peninsula. At Wembley, next year's opening of London's only designer outlet, the LDO, will mark the completion of the first phase of the 85-acre development. Already complete in this phase are 500 homes, a 4* Hilton Hotel, Wembley Arena and a 660-bedroom student accommodation scheme. At Greenwich, Quintain's recent transaction with Knight Dragon secures £300 million on funding for the scheme, wich will deliver 10,000 new homes for London, along with commercial and retail facilities.
SOMMER Sebastian Neinver | Northern Europe Director Sebastian Sommer joined NEINVER, a leading real estate company and the second largest operator of outlet centers in Europe, as Country Manager Germany in July 2010. Since then, he has been responsible for the operation, development and expansion of different business fields on the German market. In 2012, he additionally assumed the position of Northern Europe Director, where he coordinates the strategic alignment of France, Germany and Poland. Before starting at NEINVER, Sommer worked as a Franchise & Retail Expansion Manager Europe at Warnaco Europe Calvin Klein Underwear & Jeans. His professional background includes financing, development and implementation of retail strategies in the European market as well as controlling of the company's retail sector. Previously, he also held positions with Hugo Boss and Nike. Sommer studied business administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and is fluent in English and Swedish.
